Digicel’s early Xmas cheer for customer

CHRISTMAS came early for 29-year-old Roboam Kakap when his name was picked from entries for mobile company Digicel’s October competition promoting international inbound calls to Digicel numbers.
The prize, a trip worth K6,000 to any destination, was handed over to Mr Kakap yesterday morning at Digicel office.
The competition was eligible to all Digicel customers, who received an international call on their Digicel mobile phone during the month of October.
Mr Kakap is from Rabaul but lives in Port Moresby and works as the Assistant Director of Student Services at the Pacific Adventist University.
He plans to take wife Gilda, whom he married last year and their two-week-old son Wynstan Sevau on a late honeymoon to Fiji.
Mr Kakap thanked Digicel for the very welcome and unexpected prize and added they never owned a phone and seized the opportunity when Digicel came into the market.
“I believe it is a basic need to be able to communicate with family members and we were deprived of this service before but now we can afford it thanks to Digicel.”
He said his family in Brisbane contacted him from Brisbane, Australia on his Digicel phone and that proved to be lucky turn for him.
Digicel’s marketing communications manager Materura Tamarua said Digicel planned to continue with its competitions “which will keep surprising and delighting our customers in the most innovative ways”.
