Question over the feasibility of seabed
mining

I MAY be ill-informed but I wish to question the relevant authorities on the feasibility of the proposed seafloor mining deal with Nautilus.
What are the benefits and costs of this operation to the company, the environment and the society?
Does PNG really need to mine its seabed to sustain its economy?
What are the practical realities and opportunity costs this project will bring to other industries and resource sectors such as fisheries, tourism and marine biodiversity among others?
I believe the ecosystem within the perimeters of the operation is a spawning and growing haven for valuable fisheries resources such as tuna.
I do agree 100% with the aggressive development of our economy and investment during these favourable economic conditions but of course, this should be done for the collective benefits of all Papua New Guineans and not to a minority.
I feel it should address poverty alleviation through social sustainability with sound environmental considerations in pursuit of business.
If we do not care about our environment, who will?
I do believe that it is greed that will kill the human race, not global warming per se.
