FORMER PNG representative golfer Kundi Umba and couple Joy and Bob Corotan won the second annual Goroka Golf Day at the weekend.
They each won a 14-inch colour TV as their winning prizes of the event sponsored by Mainland Holdings Limited.
Umba thanked the sponsor for the initiative to re-unite golfers once again to spend time together on the golf course.
He said there were regular competitions in the past to keep golfers competitive but sponsorship had dried up over the recent past.
“I thanked my partners Joy and Bob for playing exceptionally well for us to win this second annual Goroka Golfing Day challenge and the sponsor for making this possible,” he said.
Mainland Holdings Limited group general manager Graham Pollok thanked golfers for a good turnout, and describing the Goroka atmosphere as “friendly”.
Pollok said the prizes are not only for the winners and runner ups, special prizes are also given to other helpers that make the event a success.
