‘Provinces must comply with Council Charter’

By SAMPSON BONAI
ALL provinces must fully comply with all the requirements of the PNG Games Council Charter to participate in the 3rd PNG Games.
Games secretariat media and publicity officer David Haro said: “All the athletes and officials must be fully registered and they all must submit all their names to the secretariat office as soon as possible and also they must all pay their K5 accreditation fees upon their arrival in Lae for accreditation purposes.”
“All the accreditation payments must be made at the secretariat office before the teams can pick up their accreditation cards and failure to do that will result in the teams being penalized for taking part in any sporting activities during the PNG Games.”
Haro explained that all names must be given to the secretariat office for verification before accreditation cards are issued. There will be no additional cards for names not on the registered list.
He said they have also requested assistance from the Morobe administration to assist with the coordination of all the secretariat work and with transport, accommodation. He said all other requirements including venues, facilities, protocol and ceremonies, volunteers, catering and media accreditation are in place.
Host Organising Committee chairman Joe Bau Maras expressed satisfaction with all the preparations so far and said his working committee was finalising all the arrangements and major tasks to be set for the opening.
“I’m pleased with the tireless efforts of my local organising committee in getting all the work done with the limited time frame left before the start of the 3rd PNG Games and I salute them for a job well done,” Maras said.
