No need to tour country

THE Minister for National Planning Paul Tiensten plans to visit rural districts to establish the real cause of non-delivery of basic goods and services.
Basically his findings would assist the Government to really understand the issues before undertaking correct remedies to improve people’s living.
However, I find it hard to comprehend the minister’s nationwide fact-finding mission to rural districts.
He comes from Pomio district, one of the least developed districts in Papua New Guinea. In his district, there are bush tracks and no permanent roads.
Therefore, I find it illogical for him to waste taxpayers’ money to tour the country to acquire the necessary information he already knows.
He should instead tap his own experience and knowledge to develop all rural districts.
