Rai Coast set for by-election

By FRANK RAI
Preparation of the Rai Coast by-election is well underway with polling to start on Saturday.
Madang provincial election manager Kila Ralai told The National that logistics and election officials were ready and set.
“We have been gearing up and our officers are prepared for the polling which will start on Nov 10.”
He said it would take seven days to conduct the polling because of the geographical locations and the remoteness of some stations and villages.
Mr Ralai also said there would be an extensive educational awareness on election carried out in remote areas of the electorate, especially those who missed out during the general election.
There are 21 candidates contesting the Rai Coast seat.
