Bring back ECP

PAPUA New Guinea is one of the most beautiful and amazing countries in the world blessed with natural resources, human and biological diversity unparallel by any other place.
Yet the people are poor in this rich country. The rich are a minority and they live in expensive houses surrounded by razor wire.
The poor is becoming poorer and to make ends meet, they resort to crime.
The Government has declared windfall gains but nothing has flowed to the grassroots.
The crime rate has increased dramatically. Rape cases are on the rise. Our mothers, wives and sisters are living in fear because there is no one to protect them.
So-called leaders like Luther Wenge should not hide behind the corridors of Waigani playing petty politics while the majority of the people suffer.
The law enforcement agencies have no teeth to bite.
If the Government cannot reduce crime, I call on the leaders to bring back the Enhanced Cooperation Programme (ECP).
