More push for ENB tourism needed

CLOSE coordination among tourism-related industries is critical to the viability of the country’s tourism industry.
Janet Sios, director of Frangipani Hire Car, said in a statement that East New Britain had potential to play a major role in the sector.
“If we can be a little more aggressive in the development of products and the promotion and marketing of what we can offer, the region can be a major player in the tourism industry,” she said.
“We are aware that the East New Britain tourism bureau is working towards this and we hope this assistance will bring the bureau closer to achieving this objective.”
The hire car company recently donated a computer set worth K3,500 to the ENBP tourism bureau to effectively carry out its functions in promoting tourism in the province and the region.
The donation was a token of appreciation in its partnership in promoting the lucrative industry in the province.
“In this way the economic benefits can be spread thus having a trickling effect to everyone,” she stressed.
The Director added the Bureau can ensure they improve and diversify their marketing strategies with the use of the computer and the electronic medium particularly through the internet.
