FORFEITS were the order of the day in Public Servants netball competition over the weekend.
In division one last season’s front runners Telikom 1, Finance and Works all fell pray to their opponents last Saturday.
It has been a good start for new kids on the block IBS-sponsored Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) who have proved that they are the team to beat after recording two straight wins in the premier division.
PMGH star shooter and lanky Jenny Pilak had much to offer for her team as she brushed aside Telikom’s defence to register for her team’s victory.
It was a slow start for Telikom as they didn’t have the full line-up but managed to score a few in the first ten minutes.
PMGH dominated the first half with Telikom making a late comeback in the second stanza but was too late. Alice Andrew, Mary Gumia and Lorna Maso did their best for Telikom but went down to 31-21.
In the other games Works dumped Finance 38-20 and Karo Gigimat’s Post PNG whipped NBC 25-16.
Post PNG youngsters Wally Seyawa and Linda Lukas played a crucial towards Post PNG’s win.
In the meantime, the match committee for the Public Servants netball competition is appealing to all team officials to ensure that their clubs and teams provide ID cards before taking court on Nov 24.
