Bodybuilding to be a major attraction

BODYBUILDING will be one of the major highlights at the PNG Games starting this weekend in Lae.
Bodybuilding will be holding its annual Mr PNG title as more provinces have shown interest to strike a pose for the title. Bodybuilding show will be a two-day event on Nov 21-22.
“I am pleased with the interest shown by the provinces so far, president of PNG Bodybuilding Federation and tournament director Tamai Tally said.
A strong challenge is expected from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Eastern Highlands, Western Highlands, Morobe pro-vinces and NCD.
The Mr PNG Title was left vacant after David Mugarenang was suspended. There has been no replacement because Mugarenang has challenged his suspension in court and a decision is pending.
Strong contenders for the title are Lukas Wemin, Allan Yegiora and Kenny Cooper from Port Moresby however, Bougainville and Eastern Highlands may put up good challenges. “Reflecting from our success at the South Pacific Games in Samoa, it is obvious that we have natural homegrown talents out there and there is no better opportunity than the PNG Games,” Tally said.
He said PNGBBF will be strict on rules and wants participants to observe the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) rules.
