Raskols rob doctor at gun point

AN Angau hospital doctor was held up at gun point early last week and robbed of cash and other personal items by five masked men at the junction of the Busu and Bumayong roads in Lae.
Police reports stated that Dr Bomori Kobby was driving into the city from the Busu Compound when the robbers stopped him at the junction and pointed a home-made gun and four knives at him and ordered him out of his vehicle at around 2pm last Monday.
Police alleged that when he refused to come out, the gang smashed the side door windows and forced him out.
It was alleged that they searched the doctor and stole his wallet containing K100 in cash, a mobile phone worth K245 and a Class 3 driving licence.
Police reported that the gang fled from the scene and left him unhurt but they knew the identity of two suspects and expect to arrest them soon.
Also last Monday night, about eight youths armed with home-made guns and knives held up a motorist along Cassowary Road and robbed him of K3,000.
They later damaged his vehicle and fled.
