Miss PNG cooling down

THE seemingly unrelenting sun had softened somewhat but the irregular humid breeze drifting in from the Huon Gulf steamed across the dunes at the netball courts.
Soaked in perspiration after the 21-11 beating by Team Central, Genevieve Roberts, Miss PNG 2007, (pictured) was on the edge with her Team Eastern Highlands squad.
She sat, a leg folded under the other stretched out on the lawn. Her delicate hands wiping sweat off her svelte face.
Unzipping her bag, she pulled out a fan with a flourish, twirled it spread and waved it towards her, intermittently gracefully flicking the loose strands of her hair back.
Then she reached across and picked up a bottle of cold drink for a thirst crusher.
All the while her eyes were intent on the game between Team Bougain-ville and Team Western. Her pleas to Team Bougainville were barely audible. But she tried however in vain.
