Knights too strong for their close Neighbours

MINOR premiers Moale Knights proved too strong to defeat underdogs Eyes Only Cowboys 5-2 in the Neighbours Touch Football Association grand final on Sunday at Koki-Wanigela.
The chairman of NTFA Keith Geno said the game was very tough and exciting and both teams displayed their speed and flair.
The Knights were led by five-eighth Moipa Inio and halfback Kesley Poini who controlled the game effectively with their timely pass and thinking football.
Cowboys led by centre Stanley Bagi and Gesu Heni tried their best but Inio and Poini were too good for the boys.
Geno said there was a good turn-out in supporters from both sides.
ìThe crowd was very supportive and also they behaved well throughout the finals ñ something Koki touch fraternity has seen for a long time,î Geno said.
He said as chairman he was pleased with the outcome of the competition which was completed with the grand final over the weekend.
The other results include Bay Doana Tigers drew with Keoa Kangaroos 2-all in the B grade, Galaba Eels edged out Namel Roosters in the C grade 2-1 and in the junior division, Melonah Sharks over powered Wanbel Eels 7-4.
Geno said it is a community sporting competition were his committee also involved the Masters division where Sea Masters displayed their glimpse of the past to beat Land Masters 2-1.
