Payment approved

ALL the technical officials will be paid some money as a show of appreciation for all the services rendered to the successful hosting of the 3rd PNG Games by the PNG Games Council in Lae last week.
Chairman of PNG Games Council Edris Kumbrawah assured all the technical officials that he will make sure that they all paid for the services that they have provided towards the successful hosting of the 3rd PNG Games in Lae.
The technical officials petitioned the PNG Games host organising committee headed by Joseph Bau Maras and Edris Kumbrawah and asking for K25,000 as payments for the services they have provided as volunteers towards the hosting of the 3rd PNG Games in Lae.
PNG Games Council members comprising of Peter Chalapan, David Noifa and Peter Waglua and host organising committee chairman Napolean Kaemala and marketing officer Bami Sorekeine held an urgent meeting at the Lae Technical College and resolved to look at the petition.
ìI assured all the technical officials that they will be paid some money by PNG Games Council for services that they have provided as volunteers towards the successful hosting of the PNG Games,î Kumbrawah told The National.
The Games ended on Saturday with host Morobe coming first with the most gold and medals in the overall tally followed by Team Eastern Highlands and Team NCD. The latter two lead for much of the week-long competition in Lae.
Eastern Higlands province will host the fourth PNG Games in 2009.
