Milne Bay people join fight against AIDS

"Keep the promise -leadership" is this year's theme for World AIDS Day (WAD) this on December 1.
The young people of Milne Bay province are leading the battle against HIV by organising WAD celebrations with the Provincial AIDS Committee (PAC).
Dr Noel Yaubihi (PAC Chairman and Alotau Hospital Director) said "the nerve centre for this battle is the brand new purpose built PAC office, funded by the national AIDS council showing they are keeping their promise."
Young nursing students from St Barnabos School of Nursing have organised a march through the streets of Alotau starting at 8:00am with the unofficial opening of the new PAC building. The march ends at the local market where the nursing students will talk with the public on how to fight HIV.
Dr. Yaubihi said "the governor of Milne Bay Hon. John Luk has endorsed through the Provincial Executive Committee all the Districts Strategic Plans on HIV/AIDS to be rolled out from our new office in 2008."
"Our motto is 'HIV AIDS is everyone's business' so we're making HIV our business" said Dr. Yaubihi.
"I and the PAC executive would like to invite the whole province to our celebrations. It is important to remember the inspirational quote by Winston Churchill; Never, never, never, never give-up! As only this will give us victory in our battle against HIV" said Dr. Yaubihi.
