Nines league
attracts 60 teams from all provinces

ALL provinces in the Southern region will be represented at the Southern
region 9s Rugby League tournament except for Oro and Milne Bay provinces.
Both Oro and Milne Bay provinces are currently experiencing the effect of
disaster currently hitting these two provinces.
Coordinator of Southern region 9s Ivan Ravu said it was unfortunate that
these two provinces were unable to join the sports festival this week ñ
starting on Sunday at Lloyd Robson Oval.
Ravu said so far 60 teams have confirmed to take part in one-week long
tournament which will be played at Lloyd Robson Oval 1 and PRL Oval 3.
He said the confirmed number of teams have made it as the biggest tournament
ever hosted by any sporting organization.
The participating teams are Boera Sailors, Bote Titans, Brothers Broncos,
Cloudy Bay Pirates, Gabagolo Eagles, Gabi, Gavuone Bullets 1 & 2, Gaivakala,
K-Roosters, Kalo, Kapari, Kalukele, Kempa Warriors, Hi-Reve, KK Ravalakala,
Koita Cowboys, Koki Eels, Korevere, Lako Blues, Lako Green, Kalawai,
Manupore Sharks, Mirikuro Titans, GK Hawks, Papa Swans, Pinu Agebaga, Pinu
Panthers, Porebada Broncos, Poreporena Rangers, Ranarau, Rokula Blacks,
Rovanama 1 & 2, Sandy Saints, Tatana Island Sharks, Taurama Waves 1 & 2,
Tauruba, Variarata Eagles, Vewala Pelagai, Wali Sharks, Watete Lagani, and
Waves Kaikolo, Amora, Balimo Eagles, Betele, Bogi Dogs, Eholasi, Erema, Fly,
Gabone Kiliva, Hisiu Knights, Hisiu United, K1 Brothers, Papua Black, Segani
Brothers, Oruoruna, Tatana RLA and Kwikila.
Meanwhile, Bote Titans of Porebada is leading the Oro Disaster Appeal during
the Southern Region 9’s tournament to donate foods and clothings to the
people.
The club was moved by the appeal programme and awareness nationwide,
therefore have mobilized the Porebada Community to contribute towards the
course..
They are appealing to other youths and teams that will take part in the 9’s
tournament to come forward and support the good cause.
The Titans are coached by former Kumul Dairi Kovae.
