11-year-old boy electrocuted

AN 11-year-old boy died after he was electrocuted by a fallen live wire near Granville Hotel in Port Moresby yesterday.
Darren Warage of Nombuna village in Kerowaghi district, Simbu, was walking to the market with his mother when the incident occurred at about 6am.
Kena Warage, the deceased’s father, said Darren was electrocuted when he tried to remove the wire, which had got entangled around his leg.
He said the wire snapped and fell to the ground during heavy rain last Monday.
He blamed PNG Power for his son’s death, saying they did not bother to fix it.
PNG Power said they had disconnected the fallen line.
