Judge set to hand down decision

NATIONAL Court judge Justice Panuel Mogish is expected to hand down his decision in relation to a bail application by a man involved in the foiled K4.7 million hijack at Jackson Airport last month.
The applicant is Allan Augerea from Central province.
He is one of four men involved in the hijack attempt of K4.7 million, which was on a lightweight aircraft en route to Western province.
The money belonged to Bank South Pacific and was recovered by police.
Augerea is still in custody pending a decision for his temporary release.
He was represented by Greg Michael Kunjip who made submissions last Thursday before the court that his client was a fisherman and was not part of the conspiracy to hijack and attempted theft, amongst other submissions.
Justice Mogish has adjourned this decision three times already because the decision was not ready.
The judge said in court yesterday that the reason was because he was busy scheduling trial dates for cases from last year onwards which are of priority for the court to settle quickly.
These trial dates would be put up next Feb 4.
