Netball comp taking
a break
PRIVATE Companies Netball competition will go into recess due
to high number of teams whose players will not be available over the
weekend.
An executive committee member Violet Banian said yesterday that due to a
good number of participants confirming their absence for the festive season
as well as numerous companies Christmas parties, PCNC will not have any
games this Sunday.
The PCNC will start their Christmas break this weekend until first Sunday of
January when the competition will resume.
Banian said there will be a refresher umpires course conducted on Sunday,
January 6, when the competition starts.
The course will run from the morning to midday while the competition will
resume after midday. The course will be facilitated by ever reliable Annie
Iamo from the PNG Sports Federatopm
Banian said team representatives that participated in the previous umpire
courses are required to make themselves available.
This is to encourage PCNC members to be able to umpire in our competition
instead of having to rely on outsiders.
She said any new, interested member is most welcome and added that the
participants must confirm their availability through their team
representative before the course day on Jan 6.
