InterOil holding country to ransom

Rabaul Shipping Co businessmen said Inter Oil should be kicked out of the country.
Peter Sharp said his shipping business was starting to feel the pinch of paying the 35% increase and believed all businesses in the PNG would feel the same.
The National understands that importing fuel to PNG was an expensive exercise. This was the case in Manus as reported earlier in the paper.
Mr Sharp said the Government should scrap the import parity pricing (IPP) agreement and kick Inter Oil out of the country if it does comply with the agreement set out.
“This is like holding the country to ransom,” Mr Sharp said.
He said that crude oil prices were beginning to come down.
