Telikom to the rescue

By PETER PUSAL
THE Naviu rugby league club of Aroma Coast in the Central province received assistance from Telikom PNG yesterday in the form of a full set of uniforms, medical kits and balls. The package worth over K4000 was presented to Naviu team officials by Telikom Marketing manager Jerry Damai.
The gear will be used by Naviu when taking part in the Aroma rugby league competition which will begin next week and includes at least 20 teams from Aroma and Abau areas of Central province and one from Lae. Naviu are the former champions of the Aroma rugby league competition and although they consider themselves underdogs this year they already have an enviable record of previous premiership wins under they belts.
The Aroma rugby league competition initially run by Ivan and Solomon Ravu has become a good off-season competition for villages around the Aroma coast and offers village based players opportunities for selection in trails against the Port Moresby based clubs.
