PEA should have struck a better deal

I REFER to the Public Employees Association (PEA) executive’s claims in negotiating and striking a deal on salary increases for its members.
I doubt the PEA tried very hard to get its members a better deal as claimed.
How much is a 3% increase? That’s peanuts. If someone is earning K300 a fortnight, the increase the officer will get is a measly K9 rise. You call that a better deal?
PEA has completely forgotten the real issues and situations the members are facing everyday - accommodation, rising transport costs and airfare.
Wake up, PEA executives, and negotiate something better for your members.
Look at the deal National Capital District Commission workers struck with the Department of Personnel Management. Can’t you do something similar for your members?
I commend the National Capital District Commission Workers’ Union executives. You are the real heroes who stand up for your members.
As for the PEA executives, do not stand for office again when your term is up.
