Reported statement contradictory

OI REFER to the front page report of The National entitled “Inquiry team sacked” (Dec 17).
In part of the story, it was stated that “documents relating to these questionable payments which implicate or would force at least two current departmental heads to testify, were handed over to the team headed by Mr Soi and circulated in the media”.
This statement is not only inconsistent with the Prime Minister’s press release dated Dec 14, 2007, but questions my standing in the community as a professional Papua New Guinean and furthermore suggests that I released this document to the media.
This statement is not a fact in that the document that implicates the two departmental heads is a confidential report dated June 27, 2007, prepared by a concerned citizen addressed to the PM.
Copies of this confidential report may have been given to media outlets in the country. I requested and was given a copy by a journalist in October 2007. I therefore demand an apology from you.
