COMPETITION leaders Tuguba Laitepo Morobe Kumuls will go out to maintain their top spot when they take on Gelle Hills in the last game of round one of the National Soccer League competition at the LFA Park tomorrow.
Coach Max Foster who put his young charges through their training paces this week is satisfied with their workout and their level of fitness and said they are looking forward to win their last game against Gele Hills.
“All my players are in top shape including striker Clifford Wate who had fully recovered from an ear injury in our game against Madang Fox last weekend and had attended training and is ready to take the field tomorrow,” Foster said.
“Wate will form a lethal combination with Raymond Gunemba upfront to probe for openings inside Gelle Hills territory and will be relying heavily on Richard Daniels and Sovera Gutih to distribute the balls and create opportunities for them to score goals,” he added.
“Armstrong Peka, Roniel Igins and Danny Kutuapi should combine well to get the momentum going for the Kumuls “engine room” to ensure no one is starved of any balls when scoring opportunities present itself upfront.”
Ken Gule, Clement Peka, Cyril Muta had a bigger task on hand to protect their goal mouth from any dangerous aerial shots from Hills strikers Desmond Waku, Desmond Sou and Rodney Pulu when they are penetrating into their territory.
Gelle Hills have recruited Raymond Nasa and Francis Moyap as technical officials and they have moulded the players in the into a tough fighting outfit in the past six weeks and coach Wesley Waiwai is counting on them to work miracle for the team.
“We respect Kumuls as a top side and the number of experience players in the likes of Daniels, Gunemba and Wate up front and Cyril Muta and Ken Gule in the backs and they have in depth side blended with skills and experience, however, they will have to play full 90minutes of tough football if they want to beat us to maintain their top spot,” Waiwai lamented.
“I will rely on Jeremy Masalo, Tau Nius in the backline and Negan Vincent and Wande Kavoe in the midfield areas to feed Desmond Waku, Rodney Pulu, Tau Willy and Desmond Sou up front to screo goals for us when opportunity presents itself,” he added.
Hills possible line up is Peter Kareva, Jeremy Masalo, Tau Nius Ila Elizah, Negan Vincent, Wande Kavore, Errol Robinson, Eric Willy, Desmond Waku, Rodney Pulu, Tau Willy, Desmond Sou, Richard Aura and Ila Abel will control their frontal assault up front.
