Consort Express Lines win fourth bowls title in Lae

CONSORT Express Lines claimed its fourth corporate bowls title after easily disposing off an equally determined PNG Metal Fabricators in both sets in the corporate bowls grand final at Lae Bowls Club on Wednesday night.
Lae Bowls secretary Albert Barakeina said 22 companies took part in round four of the corporate bowls competition and four made it to the finals and Consort Express Lines claim the title after disposing off PNG Metal Fabricators.
Four teams Cornerstone Motors, PNG Metal Fabricators, Trophy Shake and Consort Express Lines made it into the semi finals last Wednesday and Consort Express Lines and PNG Metal Fabricators secured the grand final play off and Cornerstone Motors and Trophy Shake played for third and forth spot respectively.
“Consort Express Lines proved its supremacy by defeating PNG Metal Fabricators and won its fourth straight title and I congratulated them for winning the title in Lae and for walking away with the premiership trophies this year,” Barakeina said.
“They are one of the most outstanding corporate team that have performed very well in all the corporate ball competitions and I thank their management for their continued support towards the development of the code in Lae,” he said.
Consort Express Lines side was captained by experienced bowler Lokes Kusunan who was the main driving force behind their success
“Cornerstone Motors and Trophy Shake game was awarded to Trophy Shake after they were both won one each and Josh Hash from Cornerstone Motors decided to surrender the third placing to Trophy Shake and they claimed the fourth placing respectively.”
