Lae cricket clubs reminded to pay up

By VII KILLAR
LAE Cricket clubs who fail to pay up their affiliations fees will not only lose competition points, but face expulsion from the season.

They may never be readmitted to any future competition.
This was the directive of Lae Cricket president William Maha.
In an e-mail to all clubs and the media on Monday, Maha warned that clubs would have to pay up or ship out.
He said so far five clubs have paid at least part of their payments with LBC NGI Raukele being the only one to settle its dues.
Koukou, on the other hand, has yet to pay. It was penalised and has lost all its points gained in the first round.
It has been given until Jan 18 to pay up its first installment to avoid being expelled from the competition.
A second deadline has be set with Maha stressing that any clubs which fail to settle outstanding fees by Jan 31 will lose all points.
Failing that, they will be expelled from the competition on Feb 15.
He also stated that clubs who are expelled for non-payment of affiliation fees will not be re-admitted either during the current season or in future.
He was pleased to announce a ìOneñoff Ladies Competitionî and men’s curtain-raiser Twenty20 match between a Patrons XI and Presidents XI on Saturday before the ladies final.
The association had decided on a short competition because only three clubs showed interest in the Ladies Competition. The three - Pagini Hoods, LBC NGI Raukele and Lagatoi ñ are to nominate seven players each to the association secretary Kila Vuivagi.
The players will be divided into a President’s XI and a Patron’s XI to play in the curtain raiser.
