Pull your socks up
IT is truly disappointing to see teachers struggling to get their leave
entitlements. Why has this been happening year in year out? Can this matter
be looked into as soon as possible (ASAP)? Those affected may not get to
their home provinces for the New Year celebrations with their families in
the villages. I hope the New Year resolution of the Department of
Education’s human resources division is to process teachers’ leave
entitlements in time before the 2008 academic year is out. – Borana Ugaia,

Treat women equally
DURING a recent forum on corruption, Bire Kimisopa called on Papua New
Guineans to embrace our womenfolk and not to confine them to the kitchen and
bedroom. We must treat women as equal partners in developing our country.
But to do that, we have to get rid of our culture of treating women as
second class citizens. – John Kriosaki, Wewak |
