THE winner of NCD Governor’s Cup will earn the right to host the next tournament as of this year.

The Governor’s Cup played at Kone Tigers Oval is one of many sporting activities which are played under the NCD Governor patronage. The tournament starts today and will end on Monday next week.
The Governor’s Cup hosted by Morata League at Kone Tigers have attracted 12 teams around the city.
Host president Billy Yaki said Morata, Bomana and Hohola are fielding two teams while Eight-Mile, Nine-Mile, Namane Raiders, Kambi and Henz will field one each.
Host Morata and Hohola are favourite but Bomana, the underdogs of the tournament, have vowed to give established teams a run for their money in the coming tournament.
Both president Alphonse Witnes and patron Sister Sika are confident that their boys will produce some good results.
They said they have some players from Tarangau Rugby League club which will boost their campaign during the Dec 28-31 tournament.
Witnes said this is the first time that Bomana will field two teams. The two teams were selected from 24 clubs which took part in the Bomana off-season competition.
He said they have accepted the invitation to take part in the tournament and will not disappoint their supporters
