TWO 14-year-old male juveniles attending a primary school in Lorengau in Manus were arrested and charged by police for sexual penetration of their female schoolmate, also a 14-year-old.
Acting police commander Senior Inspector David Yapu said on Wednesday that the three students were in Grade 7.
He said the victim was returning home from school to her home when she was confronted by the two suspects who pulled her into the bushes on the roadside and sexually penetrated her and later released her.
The victim reported the matter to her mother who in turn told a peace officer who referred the matter to police.
The two suspects were arrested and charged and released to a probation officer and their parents and will appear in court on a later date.
Yapu is concerned about the increased in sexual offences in the province and appealed to relevant authorities to work together with police to address the issue.
