Accused escapes after hijacking conviction

A MAN who hijacked a car at a traffic light in Port Moresby two years ago has been found guilty by the National Court.
But after after his conviction Steven Jackson escaped from the holding cells at Waigani.
The court heard that on December 17, 2015, Jackson who was armed and four other men held up a vehicle belonging to a company.
It was alleged that Jackson held up the driver Manase Russell at gunpoint and ordered him out of the car.
They then  drove away in the car.
