YOUTHS of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Central and National Capital District are attending a 10-day convention in Port Moresby run by two American church leaders.
Pastor Randy Skeete and evangelist Taj Pacleb from the United States are leading the convention which began last Thursday at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
Central Papua Conference secretary Ps Rex Koi said nearly 2000 young people were attending.
“This is a time to renew our faith and hope in Jesus Christ. It is a time to make a commitment to the one who was slain for our transgression and to discover our passion and love for God and our fellow men,” Koi said.
He said the conference theme “Sacrifice and serve” was timely.
“I hope that as you sit and listen to the sermons and sessions. You will be inspired to sacrifice your time and life to serve others,” Koi said.
He told the youths that this was how they would be involved in the mission of the church.
“I know that at the end of the convention you will be a changed person, one who is more loving and willing to go out and serve the Lord.”
