Milne Bay capital Alotau is set to host the 2017 PNG darts championships next month.
PNG Darts Association president John Kuaru announced this after returning from Alotau over the weekend.
Kuaru, a police officer, was part of the national election security operations in Milne Bay.
He urged all local associations wishing to take part to contact him or the organising committee headed by Alotau president Terence Soba.
Kuaru said it was important that teams make early preparations before the tournament from Sept 8-17.
The tournament would take place at the Alotau Airways Hotel for the women’s competition and the Cameron Club for the men’s competition.
Kuaru said affiliates wishing to pay their fees must get information from him on how much they would remit for their affiliation, team and player registrations.
He said there would be no registration entertained in Alotau.
Kuaru said the attendance at the Alotau championships and the PNG Games in Kimbe were important as the darts federation would select a training squad for the Pacific MiniGames in Port Vila, Vanuatu next year.
The federation had been invited to send a team to the Vanuatu Games.
For accommodation arrangements, Kuaru said teams could contact Terence Soba on 71862709 and Heisy Miller on 70170227.  For transport arrangements, teams can contact Joyce Soba on 71461273.
