Association in Jiwaka aims to help ex-prisioners change

THE Jiwaka Ex-prisoners Association launched its rehabilitation restoration awareness programme last Friday witnessed by the secretary of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General Dr Lawrence Kalinoe.
The association was set up to help people who had served their prison terms fend for themselves in society.
Association chairman Pastor Moses Kerua said he saw the need for these people to find better things to occupy themselves with after life in jail.
“We all have a responsibility to play and that is to help our family member lead a decent life,” he said.
“We need to help provide a better life for a person leaving prison.”
Kerua said it needed the support and cooperation of everyone.
“They have a meaning in life and that is why they need to change.”
