Auctions raise more than K500,000

THE 2017 Trukai Fun Run Auctions were held last Wednesday and Thursday in Lae and Port Moresby respectively.
At the Lae auction held at the Lae Yacht Club, 24 local organisations participated, buying a total of 21,405 Fun Run t-shirts for 80 schools in Morobe, breaking last year’s mark of 17,000 t-shirts sold.
The top-bidder in Lae was Ramu Agri Industries, who purchased 6405 t-shirts.
In total, the Lae Fun Run auction raised K214, 550.
Last Thursday, the business community in Port Moresby followed suit with their auction event at the Royal Papua Yacht Club.
Business houses in the nation’s capital raised K312,000 from the sale of 31,200 t-shirts.
Tru Tru Wara were the highest bidder in the purchasing 1400 t-shirts for the PNG Defence Force’s new recruits.
The auctions in both Lae and Port Moresby saw a total of K526,050 being raised for Team PNG.
From the 100,000 t-shirts donated by Trukai Industries, there are now 47,395 shirts left to be sold.
