Awesa funds new market for electorate

THE Imbonggu electorate in Southern Highlands will soon have a new market built in the Walume district headquarters.
Work on the market started last Tuesday by local contractor Tribe Engineering Limited and is expected to be completed in five months.
A total of K700,000 for the project was made available by the Imbonggu MP and Works Minister Francis Awesa a few weeks ago under the district service improvement programme (DSIP) fund. This market will encourage communities that have been struggling to sell their produce in the past to be heavily involved in farming.
According to the contractor, the top soil cleaning work has started and gravel would be laid after that.
Community leader John Puiye praised Awesa for funding the market project that would benefit people in Imbonggu and Ialibu-Pangia electorates.
