Back to class for teachers

JIWAKA education adviser Erwin Us is expecting teachers to be in class today to begin the second week of term three.
He warned teachers that they should not have any excuses to be absent.
The counting of general election votes in Jiwaka started last Friday.
Us said a few teachers from Jiwaka, who were selected from each school as counting officials, should be in classes today.
“As per directive from Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra, all teachers (also those involved in counting) must resume classes tomorrow (today).
“We’ll be monitoring teachers and take disciplinary action against those who are absent.
“I expect students to return too.”
Many students who turned up at their schools last Monday, returned home as classes had not started.
