IT will be a battle of the banks in the premier division final of the Private Companies Netball Competition on Sunday as BSP 1 take on Westpac at the Rita Flynn Complex indoor courts.
Fresh from a week off, Westpac, who earned an automatic grand final berth two weeks ago after beating the same opponents in the first semi-final, will be gunning for the ultimate glory. BSP 1 had to regroup and beat Fairdeal Liquors last weekend and take the longer route to the final.
In the division one semi-final last week, Air Niugini had to overcome Pro Clean in a thrilling match that went into double overtime.
The spirited Air Niugini side will play Moore Printing in the final on Sunday.
In the lead up to grand final day, PCNC president Kori Toua Navuru told The National that this season posed its own set of challenges due to the size of the competition.
“It has been really hectic and busy with the number of teams (86) this season. I’m satisfied with how things have been going so far, coming this far to end the season on a high note,” Toua Navuru said.
PCNC vice president Anne Lopena praised the commitment and eagerness of all the teams throughout the season.
