THERE will be no love lost between Gigira Laitepo United FC team-mates when Momase take on Mungkas in the first semifinal of the Port Moresby Soccer Association FA Cup at Bomana tomorrow.
These two clubs formed the core of the semi-professional team in last year’s NSL season but the players will now come out in their own club colours.
Mungkas midfielder Basil Jofari, Vincent Lam and Edwin Taberia will go up against Kapret Tingut, Moses Arisib and Basil Ling to see who wins the contest to guide their team to victory.
Both clubs played the same style of football but the team with the high fitness level will come out victors.
Mungkas coach Milton Gori is counting on the midfield trio to ensure they win the game.
The winner of this match will book the first grand final berth and await the winner of the second match between the undefeated Amazon Bay Simple Juniors and Yamaros.
Juniors will be counting on their striker but experience will be the deciding factor in this final.
Yamaros, with the wealth of final experience, should give them a good run for their money.
In the women’s final, Mungkas take on Guria.
Both teams have players who have experience in the final but the fittest and the team that make less mistakes will walk out winners.
Match coordinator Robert Sabadi thanked all the clubs for taking part and keep the football alive. He urged the teams to accept defeat and respect the referees’ decision as he did not want a repeat of last weekend’s incident, where a ruling was openly and violently disputed. Presentations will follow the finals.
