Bogai wins Chimbu provincial seat

Former Chimbu provincial elementary school coordinator Michael Dua Bogai has unseated incumbent Governor Noah Kool.
Bogai polled 79,839 votes, well over the 74,302 absolute majority to be declared winner in Kundiawa yesterday.
Peoples National Congress party man, Kool polled 68,768 votes to be runner-up.  Bogai, a Triumph Heritage Empowerment candidtae, thanked the people of Chimbu, polling and counting officials, members of the joint security force, electoral commission officials and the chairman of provincial election steering committee, Rev Tom Sine, for the successful election.
“Chimbu is one of the last to have the declaration. You have done a marvellous job,”Bogai said.
“The huge vote is a vote of confidence for Chimbu and it is through honesty with true votes I won and the people will get benefit of that.”
THE Party parliamentary leader and Karamui-Nomane MP Geoffrey Kama said the votes have come from the Chimbu people’s hearts.
Provincial administrator and election steering committee chairman Joe Kunda congratulated Bogai for the win.
He thanked the outgoing governor for doing a good job in the last five years.
Kunda assured Bogai of undivided support from all public servants in the province.
