THE Bank of South Pacific is giving K10,000 to support the “Clean-up Mosbi Campaign” to keep the city clean and green.
The initiative by the Sustainable Coastlines PNG in partnership with the National Capital District Commission will run from October 17 to November 13.
The campaign aims to educate Port Moresby residents on improving their waste disposal methods.
Ryley Webster, the chief executive officer of Sustainable Coastline PNG, said the month-long awareness and clean-up activities should improve the city residents’ understanding of the impacts of non-biodegradable waste “and provide them with tangible solutions to address the issue at a local level”.
Bank of South Pacific acting head of marketing Rosemary Mawe said they were keen to set the pace as they prepared for the annual Go-Green Clean-up Day next month.
