BSP banks golf challenge

BANK South Pacific won the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Charity Golf Challenge with gross of 67 at the Port Moresby Royal Golf Club last Friday.
The three-man team of David Bishop (24), Gary Mawdsley (18) and Andrew Mclean (27) posted a total handicap of 69 with an effort of 11 4/8 (11.50), ending with a result of 55 4/8.
The trio decided to donate their winning prize back to the Salvation Army.
Organisers were unable to confirm how much was raised in the event.
In second-place was Clerk of Parliament, with Ila Pala, Kilian Amini and Morgan Anato 66 (57 1/ 8), in the presence acting clerk of Kala Aufa, who congratulated his teammates for their outstanding efforts.
Coincidently BSP and Parliament celebrated their wins at the same table.
Third-place was Vanimo Jaya 63 (58 4/8) off the course with Matthew Gawing, Bobby Hotto and Ismael Lelae.
Twenty-two teams took part with the order of placing being: Ela Motors, Rotary Club, Badili Hardware, RH Group, Pacific MMI, DKS Automotive, Cakara Alam PNG Ltd, Kumul Petroleum, Lamana Development, Steamships Trading Company, AON Risks Services 1, ANZ Bank, Ideal Auto Parts Ltd, SP Brewery, The National, Westpac, Pacific Palms Property, Mobil Oil New Guinea Ltd and AON Risk Services 2.
Salvation Army spokesman Major Darryl Robinson said the fundraising event was a worthwhile cause and he thanked the corporate community for their generous support.
