Bank South Pacific handed over keys to a new Widows Counselling Centre to the Widows Association in Port Moresby yesterday.
The centre, funded by BSP under its community projects, was an initiative of the Widows Association to provide support to widows in the country.
BSP Waigani branch manager Alex Kuna told the widows during the handover  that the project showed the commitment of bank as not only a financial service provider but also in other services as well.
“The initiative of BSP nationwide is the community project, we get our staff involved in giving back to the community in a small way by assisting in community projects, including health, education, sports and environment conservation,” Kuna said.
“We believe that this project means a lot to the widows and when the association asked for assistance, we saw that there was a need and we assisted.
“We are giving this services to ensure that the communities, stakeholders and staff benefit from it.
“So I ask you all and the community to look after the project so that you can continue to do your work.”
