SIMBU provincial administrator Joe Kunda, pictured, is of the view that district public servants should be retained for effective coordination and distribution of government services.
Kunda suggested that MPs of
the six electorates in Chimbu consider putting in the right infrastructure to settle the public servants there.
“Instead of public servants operating outside the districts, mostly on ad hoc basis, they should be properly housed and resourced to keep them there,” he said.
Kunda said the district headquarters was the most important service delivery point and public servants were the most important mechanism of the government system.
He said only Kerowaghi and Chuave were seen to be having a functional district headquarters.
Kunda urged the MPs to mobilise resources and start building their own district headquarters.
