SPORTS Eventz Corporate League Nines champions Central Provincial Government and Funeral Home Laumas lock horns in the challenge at the National Football Stadium tomorrow.
Central coach Colin Lama Geno has relinquished the position to Ilo Ava due to work commitments.
Ava will be assisted by team manager Nelson Lama while Geno will only be an adviser to the duo when they need him during games.
“Bringing the team at the 11th hour to defend the crown is our mission to accomplish again this season,” Geno said.
Geno said it was good the team made it in the last minute to defend the crown.
Central Provincial Government is up against stiff opposition from Laumas who also have allrounders and utilities to push the premiers to sorts.
In the opening fixture, Laumas will be up against CPG 2 followed by Bank of Papua New Guinea and PNG Power.
In the other games National Capital District Commission meets Goodman Fielder, PricewaterCoopers face PNG Ports, Bishop Brothers are up against Eda Ranu, Department of Finance take on Pacific International Hospital, Puma Energy to meet Paradise Foods, NCDC 1 lock horns with AES and Spidertek meet Brian Bell Group.
Sports Eventz director Solomon Ravu said only the top 16 teams would qualify for the cup, plate, bowl and pennant finals after seven weeks of competition.
