CHIMBU Governor Michael Dua says sector managers at the provincial administration are to give a detailed status report of their respective sectors including financial statements over the last five years.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the governor and chairman of provincial assembly by senior provincial magistrate Ben Tanewan at the Kondom Agaundo Building in Kundiawa on Tuesday, Dua said:
“All sector managers at the provincial administration will give a detailed status report of their respective sectors including financial statements over the past five years.
“This is important to know of our status on where exactly we are today, what the problems are, the needs and the challenges that have been a weakness in each of our sector. That is important to guide us so that we can plan properly, get our priorities right to deliver what is needed for our people.”
Dua commended former Governor Noah Kool for his leadership over the last five years and encouraged the assembly members to work among themselves and with public servants in the province.
He made it clear that the swearing-in of the provincial MPs as ex-officio members of the provincial assembly has been postponed to Thursday.
“This has to be postponed (from last Friday) because we needed to have Kundiawa-Gembogl open MP Willie Onglo  to be sworn in at Parliament as MP  by the Speaker,” Dua said.
“Speaker Job Pomat is out in Manus and   some of our open MPs are still out of the country.
“We want all the MPs to be present as a team in the province and the swearing-in can take place next Thursday.”
