FORMER Kundiawa-Gembogl MP Chief Wagi Merimba says new Chimbu Governor Michael Bogai Dua will lay the foundation for human resource development in villages.
Dua scored 79,839 to oust sitting governor Noah Kool on 68,768.
Merimba also urged the six MPs from the province to put aside their political differences and work together for the good of the people.
“It is only for five years. All the six districts must cooperate to deliver services in the name of progress and prosperity,” he said.
He said people elected them because they had trust and confidence in them.
Merimba congratulated the six MPs from the province for winning their seats.
“Whether you are in the government or opposition, I urge you all to remain committed to the people who gave you the mandate and work hard to deliver their needs,” he said.
