Catholic and Christian professionals in general have a pivotal place in the society to contribute to developmental aspirations of the people, according to the Catholic Professionals Society PNG.
Society president Paul Harricknen said in a statement that with the rise in secularism and consumerism the world was in dire moral and ethical crises in decision-making which impacted on people and society.
“The people want to see Catholic and Christian professionals to stand out to make a difference with a voice of conscience, be it a scientific and technological concern such as on seabed mining, natural resources development that impacts on people and environment, same-sex marriages that impact on families and the traditional norms of marriages, corruption in politics, government and business,” Harricknen said.
He said that the Catholic Professionals Society PNG would also be hosting a farewell and thanksgiving Eucharist celebration tomorrow with Fr Rozario Menezes at the St Martin De Porres Parish, Morata, in Port Moresby.
Menezes has been the spiritual director of CPS for the last four years.
