Christians told to put their trust in God for strength

A PNG Bible Church pastor in Tambul, Western Highlands, says when people pray the desires of the heart can be granted if they put their trust in God.
Pastor Kenneth Galuwa said people must believe in what Paul wrote in his letter to the Philippians (4.13): “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Galuwa said Paul persecuted the Christians but after God called him, he was the first apostle to preach the Good News to the Gentiles when the other apostles were afraid to do so.
He said Paul declared that he did not fear anyone because he derived his strength from Christ.
“Paul placed all his trust in Jesus. That’s why he was a great preacher who converted many people to become Christians,” Galuwa said.
“If it was not for Paul and if it was not for his faith and trust in Jesus, we in the Gentile world would not know God.
“Similarly in life, if we put all our trust in Jesus, we can accomplish our dreams.
“There is nothing God cannot do and if we commit all our trust in him, he will answer our prayers.”
Galuwa also mentioned famous Biblical figures such as David who conquered Goliath through the power of God with a small sling shot, and Samson who killed the three kings of Philistine and 3000 people by the strength God gave him.
He said there are so much trouble and pain in the world because people distance themselves from God and try to do things on their own.
“The world could be a better place for everyone and there could be peace and less suffering and no war if everyone follow God’s will,” Galuwa said.
