THE Anglican Church in PNG has a new archbishop to represent the church.
Archbishop Allan Rirme Migi, 58, from Gasmata in West New Britain, was ordained as head of the church in Lae yesterday.
Bishops and representatives of the church travelled from the Solomon Islands, New Zealand, Australia and England to be part of the enthronement celebration.
Migi was enthroned as the seventh archbishop of the Anglican Church of PNG. He is the 11th bishop of New Guinea since the church was set up in the country.
“I am happy to be selected to this position in the church and am ready to work with church members and other denominations as well as the government to deliver spiritual and human interest services,” Migi said.
He was enthroned as a bishop 17 years ago.
Migi took care of the New Guinea Island region in the past 16 years.
