City Mission receives computers for youths

A COMPANY has donated 21 computers to assist in the education of young people under the care of City Mission.
Goodman Fielder International officers handed over the equipment to the City Mission headquarters at Koki in Port Moresby.
The centre’s marketing and fundraising manager Dorothy Koch thanked the company and said the centre was starting a programme on basic computer skills training for the youths in preparation for their job placements.
The centre has since 1993, been looking after young people in need of shelter and education.
A youth at the mission, Kipas Kovejo Enuma, said the centre had been providing a lifeline to boys like himself who were trying to find opportunities  in life.
He said most of them had no idea how to use computers.
City Mission Papua New Guinea serves over 1000 meals and accommodates over 400 clients daily.
